Math Night is TONIGHT from 4-6 pm in the CES Safe Room. Please join us for math games & activities! PTO will be selling snacks and Mrs. Butler will have the Haunted Hallway in her classroom. Donations will be accepted!
We are wearing costumes tomorrow! Students must be able to use restroom w/ no assistance. Regular shoes are required. No capes, face paint, masks or 1-piece costumes allowed. Students are wearing costumes all day and costumes may get dirty, etc.
Tomorrow is also our non-nutritional day and the Snack Ship will be open!
Pioneer Day is Friday! Students will get to learn all about life during pioneer days! Your child may choose to dress like a pioneer as well!

Good afternoon! CES is excited to announce that we started our "One Book" TODAY! Students received their very own copy of "8 Class Pets + 1 Squirrel /1 Dog = CHAOS" and a reading schedule to take home. We ask that you read at home following the reading schedule. At school, students will compete with trivia questions, participate in discussions and complete lessons that follow the reading schedule. We will also post questions for parents to answer on the CES Facebook Page. We read chapter 1 today at school; however, you may choose to read it with your child again this evening. CES Homecoming Parade/Pep Rally Procedures: The football homecoming parade and pep rally will be this Friday, September 29, 2023. The parade will begin at 1:30 pm. Students may be checked out by a parent/guardian by 1:00 pm in the CES office. (We will not offer a check out table during the pep rally. All check outs must be done through the CES office.) Students participating in the parade with their grade-level wagon or little league will go back to their class for the pep rally. All visitors wanting to watch the parade will need to park and stand in the bus barn parking area. Thank you for following these procedures to help us keep our students and staff safe! Please make sure your child brings a refillable water bottle. It is very hot outside and we want to stay hydrated.
After School Program tutoring starts today. Invitations for tutoring are also being sent home with qualifying students today. If your child receives an invitation, but is not registered for the program, please request a registration form from your child's teacher. If your child does not bring home an invitation, but you want your child to attend tutoring, please let your child's teacher know.

The community pep rally is also Thursday at 6 pm. GO PIRATES!!!
YAY! We are so happy that our second day went GREAT! Dismissal for the 2nd day is almost like the 1st day again since so many students are now either going to the after school program or riding a bus. We are working to make our dismissal process run as efficiently as possible. Just a few reminders: all transportation changes MUST be made through the office before 2 pm. It is best to be as consistent as possible with your child's after school routine. Students registered for the after school program will be sent to after school each day unless another plan has been set with your child's teacher. Thank you for your help and support as we strive to become better. We are "Sailing Toward Success. Every Pirate. Every Day."

HELP US FIND OUR MISSING FUTURE KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS! Please stop by the office to pick up a registration packet. We need these completed and returned as quickly as possible.
CALLING ALL FUTURE PIRATES!!! We are hosting Kindergarten Registration tomorrow, March 30th from 8 am-2:30 pm in the CES Gym Annex. Please bring your child's birth certificate, Social Security Card, current immunization record, and current physical. Want to speed up the process? Forms are available on the elementary school website (www.cedarvilleschools.org). You can print them off and fill them out in advance! If you are not able to attend registration tomorrow, please stop by the office as soon as possible to register.
Kindergarten Academy will be held on Wednesday, May 24. It is very important that your child attends kindergarten academy and completes the kindergarten screener.
Need to plan in advance? Go ahead and mark your calendar for 23-24 Kindergarten Orientation on Tuesday, August 1st from 5-7 pm! (This is Kindergarten's Open House). Teacher post cards and registration packets will be available for pick up beginning Thursday, August 3rd! Open House for grades 1-4 will be Thursday, August 10th and the first day of school will be Monday, August 14!
Did you know that 33% of our students surveyed stated that they do NOT read at home? Help us change that over the next two weeks! CES is currently participating in AR Reads, a state-wide reading initiative in which all participating schools across the state read the same book! We introduced the book on Friday and the official kick-off was Monday. A reading schedule was also sent home. Over the last 3 days, less than 45% of our students stated that they read their chapters at home. Please encourage your child to to read by having your child read to you, you read to your child, or you read with your child. Our goal is to have more than 50% of students reading at home and we know you can help us make that happen! Tonight, we will read chapters 12-14. If you need a schedule, please Dojo your child's teacher. One is also posted on the CES Facebook page, along with parent trivia questions!
February perfect attendance information is also posted! 34% of our students had perfect attendance during the month of February! Our goal for this is also 50%. Please help us by making your child is here on time and stays at school all day.

The first spring P/T conference has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 2nd from 3:30-6:30 pm. Your conference time will remain the same as what was previously scheduled.
Next week is also Dr. Seuss Week! The dress up days are as follows: Monday-message on a shirt; Tuesday-wear your future college shirt or dress for your future career; Wednesday-SPRING PICTURE DAY!!!!; Thursday-Pajamas (P/T Conferences); Friday-dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss character!
3rd grade will perform "Seussical the Musical" at 8:30 am on Friday, March 3rd. We will read the rest of the day. We will also introduce our new school-wide book as part of the AR Reads Initiative. Books will be sent home on Monday, March 6 which is the official kick-off! All participating Arkansas Schools will read the same book at the same time! More information will be shared soon!
21st CCLC Parent Needs Assessment: Cedarville School District is reapplying for a 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant to support our afterschool program for students. Your responses to this survey will help us better understand student and family needs as we plan for the afterschool program. Please fill out the following survey by February 21, 2023. The Arkansas Council for Military Children is surveying military families in Arkansas to determine how well certain education-related programs are serving military families.

Set your alarms! Cedarville School District will resume in-person learning tomorrow, February 3rd. AMI work will be sent home to be completed by next Friday, February 10th. Work must be completed for students to be counted present for AMI days. We look forward to seeing everyone by 7:55 am in the morning!
