Cedarville Elementary School Is Now A Purple Star School!

The Cedarville School Board signed the School Board Resolution on 2-22-22!

The Arkansas Purple Star School Award for military-friendly schools recognizes schools that show a major commitment to serving students and families connected to our nation’s armed forces. Purple Star awardees receive a special Purple Star recognition to display in their building and are recognized on the Arkansas Department of Education Division of Elementary and Secondary Education website. To qualify for the Purple Star School Award, schools must complete the following requirements:
Designate a dedicated, trained School Military Liaison who informs teachers of military-connected students in the classrooms;
Create a dedicated webpage on the School website;
The School Board passes a Resolution of the school's support for military-connected students and families.
The School hosts Military Recognition Events to demonstrate a military-friendly culture at the school.
Support for Military Families
The Cedarville School District is dedicated to supporting our military students and families. We appreciate the sacrifices our families make each and every day. The district is committed to serving students of our military heroes and supporting them both emotionally and academically.
Cedarville Elementary School's secretary, Mrs. Jennifer Nolan, also serves as the school Military Liaison providing any necessary support for our military families. Our school counselor, Mrs. Twyla Ledesma, also serve as point of contact for our military families. They have been trained to specifically assist families in any situation military students may face including, constant relocation, enrollment, eligibility, graduation requirements, to dealing with a deployed parent.
